German: How to Speak and Write It
by Joseph Rosenburg. A beginner-intermediate student's guidebook which I heartily recommend, priced at only $8. Even the numerous illustrations inside the book are wonderful: there are no ugly Ausländer to be seen (unlike in crappy programs such as Rosetta Stone) - just smart, nice-looking, hard-working Germans and nice pictures von Deutschland.
