Conservatives need some perspective

Laura Wood, at The Thinking Housewife, makes an important point to conservatives and Republicans who are upset about OBammie's speech to schoolchildren:

Jim Greer, chairman of Florida’s Republican Party, stated this week in regard to President Obama’s upcoming speech to the nation’s schoolchildren:

As the father of four children, I am absolutely appalled that taxpayer dollars are being used to spread President Obama’s socialist ideology. The idea that school children across our nation will be forced to watch the president justify his plans for government-run health care, banks, and automobile companies, increasing taxes on those who create jobs, and racking up more debt than any other president, is not only infuriating, but goes against beliefs of the majority of Americans, while bypassing American parents through an invasive abuse of power.

While I support educating our children to respect both the office of the American President and the value of community service, I do not support using our children as tools to spread liberal propaganda.

This is silly. The entire American school system bypasses parents through an invasive abuse of power. Children are used as tools to spread liberal propaganda every hour of the day. The president is the Teacher-in-Chief and this speech is no departure from business as usual. Has Greer looked at any of his children’s textbooks? Has he ever asked them what goes on in school?

Laura, excellent point, and thanks for the softballs. Any parent who has faced the bottomless ignorance, indifference, or passive hostility of friends, neighbors, and relatives (I am lucky, my family is supportive) over homeschooling, and anyone who has tried to talk intelligently to the GOP dark lords about Federal government schooling, knows the answer to your questions: No, of course not.

Most "conservatives" have not read their children's school books, neither have they investigated what goes on in the government schools. They are as clueless as they can be and seem determined to remain so. Worse, most who do sense that the entire "education" system is rotten top to bottom, cannot be bothered to do anything about it, even when the minds of their own children are being ruined. The vast majority still send their wretched children to these facilities, jeden Tag. That they would be upset by a little extra Marxist propaganda for one day is amazing to me.

Federal government involvement in schooling is immoral, unconstitutional and illegal. It is centralized communist indoctrination on a grand scale and should be destroyed today, right now.
