That history is cyclical, that civilizations rise and fall, that the present system will be no exception to this rule -- these notions too are of ancient lineage and, though recognized by none in power, their pertinence seems to grow with each new regression of the European biosphere. With Corvus' Convergence des catastrophes, they assume again something of their former authority.

"For the first time in its history," Corvus writes, "humanity is threatened by a convergence of catastrophes." This is his way of saying that the 18th-century myth of progress -- in dismissing every tradition and value distinct to Europe -- is about to be overtaken by more primordial truths, as it becomes irrefutable evident that continued economic development creates ecological havoc; that a world system premised on short-term speculation and financial manipulation is a recipe for disaster; that beliefs in equality, individualism, and universalism are fit only for a social jungle; that multiculturalism and Third World immigration vitiate rather than re-vitalize the European homelands; that the extension of so-called republican and democratic principles suppress rather than supplant the popular will, etc. In a word, Corvus argues that the West, led by the United States, is preparing its own irreversible demise.

School "Time-Out" and "Seclusion" rooms

MURRAYVILLE, Georgia (CNN) -- A few weeks before 13-year-old Jonathan King killed himself, he told his parents that his teachers had put him in "time-out."

"He was a hugger, liked to go fishing with me," Don King said of son Jonathan, who had ADHD and depression. "We thought [time-out] meant go sit in the corner and be quiet for a few minutes," Tina King said, tears washing her face as she remembered the child she called "our baby ... a good kid."

But time-out in the boy's north Georgia special education school was spent in something akin to a prison cell -- a concrete room latched from the outside, its tiny window obscured by a piece of paper.

Called a seclusion room, it's where in November 2004, Jonathan hanged himself with a cord a teacher gave him to hold up his pants.

Only Vermont tracks how many children are kept in seclusion from year to year, though two other states, Minnesota and New Mexico, say they have been using the rooms less frequently in recent years.

According to the Physician's Desk Reference Guide, increased heart rate and blood pressure can result from the use of the major stimulant drug used to "treat" ADHD. Suicide is a major complication of withdrawal from this stimulant and similar amphetamine-like drugs.

A study published in Science Journal in 1999, noted: "The mechanism by which psychostimulants act as calming agents in humans with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or hyperkinetic disorder is currently unknown."

In 2000, The Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry reported, "it is well known that psychostimulants have abuse potential. Very high doses of psychostimulants…may cause central nervous system damage, cardiovascular damage, and hypertension. In addition, high doses have been associated with compulsive behaviors, and in certain vulnerable individuals, movement disorders. A very small percentage of children and adults treated at high doses have hallucinogenic responses."

Drugs other than psychostimulants that are used for ADHD, have their own adverse reactions: tricyclic antidepressants may induce cardiac arrhythmias, buproprion at high doses can cause seizures, and pemoline is associated with liver damage.

1 in 6 Kids Taking Stimulants Can Develop Psychotic Symptoms

A 2001 newsletter to Doctors for Disaster Preparedness says, "In one study, six of 98 children treated for ADHD with stimulants developed psychotic symptoms."

The FDA has reported, "A total of 4,400 health-related complaints of adverse reactions to methylphenidate, the main drug prescribed for ADHD, have been received since 1969. Thirty percent of those—more than 1,300 complaints—were reported in the last 15 months, including complaints of convulsions and tics, drug dependence, heart ailments, and death."

Don't worry, Citizen, this could never really happen, not to American children. We have democracy.

A slide show of parts of a city which has received more than it's fair shair of "vibrant diversity." Schade. I've not been there so I cannot see the ghosts in these buildings, but I'm sure others can. Conservatives need some perspective

The president is the Teacher-in-Chief and this speech is no departure from business as usual. Has Greer looked at any of his children’s textbooks? Has he ever asked them what goes on in school?

Laura, excellent point, and thanks for the softballs. Any parent who has faced the bottomless ignorance, indifference, or passive hostility of friends, neighbors, and relatives (I am lucky, my family is supportive) over homeschooling, and anyone who has tried to talk intelligently to the GOP dark lords about Federal government schooling, knows the answer to your questions: No, of course not.

Most "conservatives" have not read their children's school books, neither have they investigated what goes on in the government schools. They are as clueless as they can be and seem determined to remain so. Worse, most who do sense that the entire "education" system is rotten top to bottom, cannot be bothered to do anything about it, even when the minds of their own children are being ruined. The vast majority still send their wretched children to these facilities, jeden Tag. That they would be upset by a little extra Marxist propaganda for one day is amazing to me.

Federal government involvement in schooling is immoral, unconstitutional and illegal. It is centralized communist indoctrination on a grand scale and should be destroyed today, right now.

Both parties blocked Audit the Fed bill for 25 years

From Washington's Blog:

The House Committee on Financial Services has just posted the video of Barney Frank's opening statement on the bill to audit the fed (HR 1207).

Frank provided some very interesting history in his opening statement.

Specifically, Frank says that Ron Paul originally introduced the bill for the first time in 1983. But for 12 years after that, the Republicans used their control of the Finance Committee to insure that there was "no time" to give Paul's bill a hearing.

In 2003, when Paul was in line to become chair of the domestic monetary subcommittee, that subcommittee - coincidentally enough - immediately disappeared, and was merged into another subcommittee in order to shield the Federal Reserve from the imminent oversight which a monetary subcommittee under Paul would presumably create.

Frank makes clear that it is not one party or the other responsible for suppressing Paul's audit-the-fed bill for 25 plus years. As Frank put it, there was "bipartisan ignoring of the issue".

This squares with what I had always heard Ron Paul say in his speeches over the years, not necessarily about this bill, but about the unanimous opposition he always faced whenever he introduced a bill that would truly reduce the size and power of the federal government in any meaningful way. Very frequently he would start with a large group (20-30+) of enthusiastic fellow members, but by the time the voting was over and it was time for the final vote -- the one that counted -- he was down to a small handful of supporters. Most often, he was the last man standing. Liars and thieves, every one of those traitors.

As even the dumbed-down, de-culturated, de-racinated American people are beginning to realize, there has been no difference between the RedTeam and the BlueTeam for a long time -- several decades in my estimation.

Now that we have fallen on seriously hard times, a few things seem to be changing. There appear to be a few congressmen, believe it or not, willing to do their jobs.

But let's not get carried away. As long as the money-changers rule the West, we cannot expect any real change in our favor. The RedTeam, ostensibly the party of American conservatism, is led by black socialists. The BlueTeam is as lost to liberalism as ever. Both parties are beholden to Jewish money and a Jewish worldview.

Most conservatives still send their children to government indoctrination factories every school day, receive government handout money (stolen from me and mine, with not even a "thank you very much, kiss my arse"), and vote for the congressman who brings home the most bacon. Most white conservatives will not defend a fellow European against Marxist-inspired "crimes" like racism, anti-Semitism, and hate. They spend their meager spiritual capital on suicidal projects, the primary one being "saving" all the colored peoples of the world and bringing them here.

Conservatives give lip-service to the Constitution, the Founding Fathers, original American principles, our great European heritage, and so on, but only a miniscule minority will actually do or say anything to justify the sacrifices of his American ancestors. Too many are eager to spill my children's blood (boys' and girls', mind you) on foreign soil, even as communism/multiculturalism/globocapitalism continues to metastasize domestically. They not only will not oppose the financial, academic, and governmental supremacy of the hostile invaders, most are too gutless to even acknowledge it.

Too many love money and their new police state; too few love liberty. The many will in the end receive neither, of course. And the Tweedle-Dum RedTeam will blame the Tweedle-Dee BlueTeam. And neither will receive much sympathy from their children and grandchildren, whose country they wrecked and whose nation they denied.

A Gothic society

John Ruskin gives us a vision of life that is strangely united: how do a few essays about art, architecture, and economic reform relate to one another? Indeed, much of Unto this Last seems disjointed--and not all essays are of equal worth; some are quite dated and others are just weird. Notwithstanding, rays of light break through and give us an alternative way of being and community.

Ruskin proposes a Gothic society. Whether or not he truly understood it, Ruskin's vision is not too different from Augustine's in City of God book 19.4 and certainly echoes much of Plato's thought in The Republic. Ruskin notes that a society's architecture reflects its moral vision (233-234, 237). A Gothic society is one that arises out of a pure national faith and domestic virtue (239). This sounds like fascism, doesn't it? That's not what Ruskin has in mind. Following St Augustine, who reasoned that a society is one that shares its common objects and commonly loves its Object. Time for real change

John Schwenkler writes about the growing movement for secession. I agree, it's time for real change. The liberals and conservatives in "the liberal generation" have pushed us to a point where we have no choice. Our government was big and out of control many decades ago and would've been considered a disaster by early Americans' standards. Today it is much, much bigger and more powerful. Our ancestors would probably, maybe rightly so, consider it The Beast.

Schwenkler has a huge blind spot, though. He strongly condemns those "racists," not realizing that this position is a communistic, universal, radical-liberal one. He throws the term around, I suspect, to be polite and non-extreme, trying to get as much support as possible. But it's clear that he would condemn any efforts of nations to segregate themselves based on their deepest identity, their race. CWNY puts his finger on it:

So white Europeans who are still European are dragged before the bar of Liberaldom and found to be guilty of racism, which is the liberals’ word for treason. But at the same time, the liberals assert that there really is no difference between the white and the black. “We are all God’s children.” Whoops, the liberal can’t say that, so he backtracks: “We are all part of the brotherhood of man. But wait – the white man is not part of the brotherhood of man; he is an evil ...” It gets hard for the liberal. All those contradictions give him a headache.

People like John will lead no serious revolt because they have bought into the liberals' lie and lead themselves around in circles. But I'm glad of him raising the subject of secession.

While reading the Lew Rockwell blog, I came across this famous quotation in a post from David Kramer concerning Elie Wiesel's demand that Holyhoax "deniers" be thrown into prison:

Great quotation. The lesson here is that if you didn't want be arrested, then you shouldn't have been a communist or communist sympathizer. How to compost

With TEOTWAWKI (the end of the world as we know it) barrelling down on us (well, maybe :-), you'll probably want to get yourself a new hoe. And you'll be wanting to change out the political compost you've been drowning in for a much healthier kind.

Compost is cheap (practically free) and easy to make. It reduces landfill costs and space. Best of all, there is nothing better you can add to your yard and garden to keep it healthy and productive. You can eliminate or severely reduce the need for fertilizers and pesticides in those areas that have a few inches of compost added to them every year, leaving your wallet and your environment healthier and more balanced than ever.

Here is the basic recipe:
Mix equal weights of leaves and grass (~3:1 by volume). Keep the mixture moist and turn it every few weeks until it turns black. Spread liberally over your yard, around your trees, and in your garden and flowerbeds. That's it.

Details and advice:
Collect the leaves in the fall and winter and then mix them with grass cuttings in the spring and summer, about 3 parts leaves to 1 part grass. Pile them separately, then mix them together using a leaf rake, raking the mixture into your compost pile as you go. You could then put the mixture into bins in order to save space if you like, but I just pile it all into one big, steaming heap right on the ground.

The whole process is simple and it does not smell bad if you mix it properly. Mix the grass soon after it's cut -- grass that sits out in the summer heat for more than a day or two really reeks.

OK to add to the composting mixure:
* Kitchen scraps
* Wood chips
* Brown shredded paper
* Rabbit, horse, and cow manure are OK to add if you like, but you'll need to compost a few weeks longer in order to remove some of the acidity if your soil is already too acidic.

Do not add:
* Dairy, meat, or bones. These decay too slowly and smell bad in large quantities.
* No dirt or "compost starter" are needed.
* No sticks or limbs. They decay too slowly and make your pile difficult to turn.
* Absolutely no dog or cat waste (yuk!).

Basically, if you just stick to mixing up leaves and grass, and turning it once every few weeks, you'll have perfect compost in no time, anywhere from 2-4 months.

Bernanke warned that even with all the moves made by the Fed and Treasury, "credit markets will take some time to unfreeze." He also said the housing crisis will continue to be a drag on the economy but he also said that "the problem was much broader than subprime lending."

In other words, "The surge is working." Bernake also said, "Woob, woob, woob, woob!"

Two party tyranny

You get the picture – when the major parties violate the law, it’s no big deal. When challengers to their power fail to comply with even the smallest detail of the law, they are in violation. Such a double standard is unacceptable in a just and lawful society.

Success and its poisonous flower of democracy

Paradoxically to most people, it is the struggle and the individual's attitude to it that maintain freedom and build success. It is the worship of that same success and love of safety that bring about rot and failure. Standards are relaxed; systems grow of their own volition; the foreign, the incompetent, and the insane are allowed to immigrate, integrate, vote, and to rule; The Mob subsequently takes over, bringing about collapse.

Tim Case, in Preamble to Social Mayhem, sees the Destructor (my term) as the State and all its opera which kills initiative and freedom:

Certainly no serious student of history would dare ignore any of these lines of reasoning in studying the fall of the Roman Empire. However, there is one further item that is rarely addressed but which should be of equal importance to understanding why great empires, like Rome, ultimately fail.

Whether we are talking about an autocracy, oligarchy, or democracy we are in the final analysis dealing with a coercive force which will become violent to attain its ends. As the state increases its power base and the demands upon its citizens, it will seek to have a domineering effect upon the human spirit. The result is the destruction of self-reliance, self-determination and self-confidence of free citizens and replacing them with a dutiful, subservient drone totally reliant on the state.

The pressure the state exerts on it subjects was not lost on Tacitus who bemoaned the servile mood of the Roman Senate under Tiberius in contrast to the character of the Senate during the building of the Empire. Even Tiberius is reported to have said in disgust of the Roman senators: "O men, ready for slavery!"

Three of the great writers of antiquity – Livy, Pliny the elder, and Tacitus – all recognized that the Roman society was becoming enslaved. Livy felt it was because of the wealth and Pliny concurred that the lack of intellectual interests was the result of the worship of wealth.

Tacitus, however, stated that "genius died by the same blow that ended public liberty" laying the blame directly at the feet of the rising tyranny of the Roman state.

However, it is the unknown philosopher of Longinus’ On The Sublime who pinpoints the cause when he says:

... we of to-day seem to have learnt in our childhood the lessons of a benignant despotism, to have been cradled in her habits and customs from the time when our minds were still tender, and never to have tasted the fairest and most fruitful fountain of eloquence, I mean liberty. Hence we develop nothing but a fine genius for flattery. [Lewis Lapham wrote some excellent commentary and advice about this. -- r.m.] This is the reason why, though all other faculties are consistent with the servile condition, no slave ever became an orator; because in him there is a dumb spirit which will not be kept down: his soul is chained: he is like one who has learnt to be ever expecting a blow. For, as Homer says – ‘the day of slavery takes half our manly worth away.’

In Catiline's War Gaius Sallustius Crispus opens his dissertation with this statement:

Every man who is anxious to surpass the lower animals should strive with all his power not to pass his life in obscurity like the brute beasts, which nature has made the groveling slaves of their bellies. Now our whole ability resides jointly in our mind and body. In the case of the mind it is its power of guidance, in the case of the body its obedient service that we rather use, sharing the former faculty with the gods, the latter with the brute creation.

We may say then, without too much contradiction, that the real war between a free people and the state resides over who will control the mind: the individual or the state.

If it is the individual, society will continue to grow and flourish, while if the state wins control, the society rapidly decays, allowing the points often citied for the fall of the Roman Empire to occur.

Alexis de Tocqueville, in Democracy in America, describes the bureaucratic creep that brings Case's Destructor State which kills initiative and freedom:

Above this race of men stands an immense and tutelary power, which takes upon itself alone to secure their gratifications, and to watch over their fate. That power is absolute, minute, regular, provident, and mild. In Schism and Conscience: Solzhenitsyn’s First Circle and Cancer Ward, Matthew Raphael Johnson writes:

The Enlightenment is based on the interconnection of all external stimuli (since they are all reducible to atoms and their vibrations), hence, totalitarianism is a practical and scientific necessity. If force applied in one direction will eventually affect all elements, then everything is connected. This is graphically shown in the beginning of the novel when the vibrations of Volodin’s voice create a chain reaction of activation of the NKVD’s entire apparatus in an inorganic dystopic anti-nature. All is motion, all is cause and effect, hence all is connected, hence there is no autonomous element of life. BNP Updates Language & Concepts Discipline Manual

A model for real Americans. This is what our leaders should be doing. From the Chelmsford Anglican Mainstream:

Politics requires propaganda, and effective propaganda requires self-discipline. It is essential that all official (and preferably unofficial, i.e. public comments by party members) BNP communications stick to the party’s true message and convey it to the voting public in a clear and consistent way.

The enemy wants us to be misunderstood — this is why they deliberately lie to the public about what we stand for — so we must do everything possible to make it impossible for the public to misunderstand us.

Therefore, BNP Policy Research has compiled the following rules of language and concepts discipline:

Rule #1: The BNP is not a ‘racist’ or ‘racial’ party. It should never be referred to as such by BNP activists, and anyone else who does so must be politely but firmly corrected. The precisely correct description of what we are, in the standard terminology of international comparative politics, is a ‘patriotic’ or ‘ethno-nationalist’ party. That is, we espouse, like many political parties all over the world, the interests of the particular ethnic groups to which we belong. If you are accused of being a ‘racist’ then do not try and get into a definition of what is meant by that. The answer is simply “no, the BNP is not racist” and that is all. Do not fall into the media trap of trying to debate what racism is — as soon as you hedge the question, you are giving them an opportunity to exploit. See the 2008 booklet Folk and Nation: Underpinning the Ethnostate for more details.

Rule #2: Do not hesitate to repudiate bad aspects of the BNP’s past. Point out that all parties have some people who have said and done silly things. The important issue upon which to focus is what is being said and done now. People can and do change, and this has happened to the BNP as well. There is no comparison between the BNP of ten or fifteen years ago, in the same way that there is no comparison between the Labour or Conservative Parties of now and twenty years ago. All parties evolve, mature, and change, and we do not have to be on the defensive for things said and done twenty years ago which have no relevance to the modern BNP.

Rule #3: The BNP’s core principle is one of Britain and British people first, and we do not hesitate to announce this from all public platforms. This is not an extreme position — in fact it is one which any normal country would have. If you are questioned on this, and there might be some people mad enough to call it into question, point out that the Japanese government always acts in the interests of the people of Japan etc., and that almost all nations in the world act in the interests of their own people first. This does not mean that the Japanese “hate” anybody else, merely that they have the good sense to put their own interests first. In this way, the BNP makes no secret of the fact that it seeks to put British people and British interests first, and this includes putting measures in place to ensure that the majority population of this nation remains ethnically British. This is not a policy to hide — on the contrary, it is one to discuss openly, as it differentiates the BNP from all the other political parties who seek the exact opposite.

Rule #4: The BNP campaigns in a totally lawful manner. Our experience has shown time and time again that agent provocateurs who suggest nonparliamentary means of political activity are most often extreme left infiltrators who seek to create situations wherein the media can portray the BNP in a bad light. Any member hearing any such language or suggestions must immediately report it to their party senior who must then pass the information upwards, never outwards, so that it can be dealt with as quickly as possible.

Rule #5: Always remember that the BNP’s policies are basic common sense, and mainstream. Repeated opinion polls show that on our core issues, the majority of the public agree with us and the extremists are the establishment politicians. Do not let interviewers or opponents get away with using the words ‘extreme’ or ‘far right’ or such terms. Challenge such statements immediately by asking what is so ‘extreme’ about any of them. The interviewer or opponent will quickly be put on the spot to justify his position, and will be hard-pressed to show that a policy (such as) “Britain for the British” is extreme. (You can point out that everyone agrees Tibet should be for the Tibetans, and that is not regarded as ‘extreme’.)

Rule #6: The BNP is not ‘anti-European’. We are ‘anti-EU’ or ‘anti-European Union’ or ‘anti-Brussels’. Do not criticise Europe per se — only the institution of the EU, which is a liberal/fascist monstrosity designed to destroy national borders, identities and cultures, and which poses the greatest threat to the continued existence of individual nations since the end of the Communist empire.

Rule#7: The BNP is not ‘anti-Polish’ or ‘anti-Eastern European’. The Eastern European nations have the right to protect their own workforce — in exactly the same way that Britain does. If you are in a discussion about Polish or Eastern European workers, do not end an argument by saying “how terrible it all is” but point out that Poles would object if a million British, or a million Vietnamese descended on Poland and took away jobs from Polish people by working for less than the living wage in that country. There is nothing wrong with such a policy position, and all intelligent people will understand this — Poles and other Eastern Europeans included. Finally, point out that it is the EU “Freedom of Movement” rules, introduced by the Tories, which are ultimately responsible for recent demographic changes, and not the people themselves.

Rule #8: When addressing a specific audience, arguments for our policies should always be couched in language calculated to be relevant to their interests. Do not bore a workingmen’s audience with those parts of our ideology that derive from old-school Toryism, or puzzle an affluent suburban audience with an explanation of worker ownership of industry.

Rule #9: Racial and ethnic epithets and insults should never be used. Leave the crude ethnic jokes about Chinese cockle pickers to the Tories and others. The BNP is under special media scrutiny for any such language, and it is strictly forbidden, no matter how light-hearted it may be.

Rule #10: A political party cannot succeed, or even attract new members, if it takes as its premise the hopelessness of its cause. Therefore, BNP activists and writers must, though they should strongly condemn the rotten character of the present British regime and the society it has produced, never speak of the situation in Britain as hopeless or of British society as corrupt to the point of worthlessness. They must always remember that politics, at the end of the day, is an act of will, and our creative vision of what Britain ought to be must always be alive in our hearts and projected with confidence to the public.

Rule #11: Explanations of our ideology should be couched, whenever possible, in terms of specifically British history and the specific national identity of Britain. For example, when discussing rights, we should speak of ‘our traditional rights’ or ‘the rights of Englishmen’, not about universal human rights, which is a very different concept.

Rule #12: Successful revolutions from the right have always presented themselves as restoring older traditions. Therefore, we should couch our agenda in restorationist terms whenever possible. Ours is a populist traditionalism, not an elitist one.

Rule #13: The BNP defines British people in both civic and ethnic terms. Immigrants, and descendants of immigrants who have settled here from non-European countries, are British in the fullest civic sense of the word, and entitled to the rights of all British subjects. This includes all rights and duties (such as full protection under the law) and all other aspects of participatory society, such as national sports teams, military service, civic associations and the like.

The BNP also defines British people in an ethnic sense, in that we are the descendants of the traditional peoples of England, Scotland, Wales and the island of Ireland. In the same way, an English person might be born in China of English parents and might have a Chinese passport, but would never be ethnically described as Chinese.

This ethnic understanding of Britishness does not impinge upon the civic rights of British passport holders. It is merely an expression of the rights of an indigenous people to be recognised as such, and to have the right to remain as the majority population in their own nation.

This right is accepted as normal by almost every other nation on earth, who also define their indigenous populations ethnically. Pakistan, for example, has a law of return which guarantees children of Pakistani immigrants the right to a Pakistani passport, no matter where in the world they may have been born.

The house that "conservatives" built

We have the RedTeam to thank for this new KGB-type monstrosity. When their fearless leader, G.W. Bush, and his Jews were whipping up the ridiculous "war on terror" frenzy in the media and in D.C., it was us "Ron Paul Constitutional Kooks," as Sean Hannity put it, whom they spit on and called traitors. I wonder what these RedTeam patriotards think now, as they discover that they are the terrorists the politicians had in mind all along.

George Washington warned us in his farewell speech about succumbing to party politics. This is a good example of why. The RedTeam gave powers to the Executive that they would never have dreamed of giving up had the BlueTeam been in power. And now it seems too late to take them back.
