This is not to deny the importance of the darkness. Darkness contains all potential. It is not merely the absence of light, but something that is, in its own way, just as vital.

The long nights and short days of winter are pregnant with potential. A creative chaos, the womb of all that is unmanifest, lurks in the shadow. But in the fullness of time it must be replaced by rebirth, by manifestation, by light, by truth rather than ambiguity - and thus we have the return of Sunna, the Sun.

Who defended Bush as he destroyed posse comitatus and gave himself dictatorial powers? REPUBLICANS.

Who defended Bush when he was tripling the size of government? REPUBLICANS.

Who was all for bankrupting me and sending my children to die in wars on behalf of a foreign country (Israel)? REPUBLICANS.

Who viciously slammed Ron Paul and his supporters for years, calling us one world conspiracy kooks, and shouting for us to be rounded up and shot? REPUBLICANS.

Who has been selling off our natural resources to the highest bidder in the name of capitalism and efficiency? REPUBLICANS.

Who voted with the Democrats for the bailouts in September? REPUBLICANS.

And now you RedTeam party faithful are telling me that I should put my faith in Republicans and their lying cheerleaders? Ya, right. This freedom movement and the tea party belongs to real Americans. The RNC and the DNC establishment and their lying whores in the media were strongly against us all this time. Well, they can stick it.

There will be no revolution until American people get back to strongly distrusting government and physically take back local control. Until then it’s only gonna get worse because the exact same people are still in charge as who created this mess. There is no practical difference between the RedTeam and BlueTeam; all but a tiny, tiny handful are crooks and sellouts.

And it’s largely because Americans have forgotten (or simply don't want to hear) the warnings of our early American forefathers. No one is willing to give up his government handouts; even "conservatives" rabidly attack anyone who suggests they should. 95% of American parents refuse to take a part in educating their children, instead handing them over to the MLK-worshipping Marxists in the public school system. They sit on their self-absorbed, self-righteous butts, watching sports and FauxNews 24/7, believing the half-truths from TV "news" celebrities. Gerald Celente:

Who do the people listen to? A closed circuit of familiar faces guaranteed to take predictable positions. Authorities on nothing, yet pronouncing upon everything; a cadre of media aristocrats, pretending they're the people's voice.

The Sixth Day of Yuletide

A few days ago, I stood on the scales down at the gym and discovered that I had gained four pounds over a period of perhaps a week and a half. Part of the increase resulted from fewer workouts over the period in question, but most of the extra weight came from too much eating and drinking - and worst of all, indulging in eating and drinking just before bedtime!

Clearly, I had not been moderate.

My response was to get on the treadmill and burn off 640 calories, being sure to get in some intense running to keep my metabolism elevated over the next few hours. Come to think of it, that wasn't very moderate of me, either.

The truth is, it's not what we do SOME of the time that makes a difference - whether it's eating or running - but rather what we do MOST of the time. Perhaps we have to be moderate even in our moderation, punctuating our lives with variety in the form of
occasional excess.

Moderation in food and drink is particularly hard this time of year, but it is, after all, a time for celebration. Exercise some control as a matter of principle, but have fun, too.

Light a candle for Moderation, and resolve to keep your sense of humor!

The face of modern conservatism

All across America, we’ve seen literally thousands of Tea Parties, Obamacare town hall protests, and the recent march on Washington. Hundreds of thousand of people, if not millions, have come out to voice their anger at what’s going on in their country courtesy of President Rahm Emanuel and his puppet, Barack Obama. And 99% of them have been white. That’s a fact. In fact, it’s probably higher than that, like 99.99%. It’s a white movement, plain and simple. But white people have been taught to hate themselves, and so they go out of their way to recruit Uncle Tom’s for their movements, hoping the media won’t call them racists. The family values crowd enlisted “Bishop” Harry Jackson in their fight against gay marriage. And Harry Jackson promptly repaid the favor by inviting “black conservative” crackhead criminal Marion Barry to speak at a rally for traditional marriage. And who can forget Julius Caesar (JC) Watts, the darling of the conservative movement in the 1990s, simply because he was the only black Republican in Congress? After being coddled and promoted by white Republicans for years, in 2008 Watts paid them back by saying he was probably going to vote for Obama, and hinted that he thinks the GOP is “racist.” And don’t get me started on Harry Alford.

Republicans have been doing this for decades, groveling and pandering to blacks in the hope that blacks will see just “color-blind” they are, and start voting GOP. And year after year, election after election, blacks continue voting for the Democrats by a factor of at least 9-1. In 2008, it was 19-1. 95% of blacks voted for Obama. And have conservatives learned anything? Nope. Look at the tea parties for proof. Until a couple days ago, hardly anyone could name a person associated with the tea parties. They came out of a true grass roots movement, and except for the few politicians and washed up C-list celebs who latched on to them, like Chuck Norris, there wasn’t a face attached to the movement. It was truly a mass movement, that didn’t revolve around a personality.

But in the past couple days, one person has become the face of the tea parties. And surprise, surprise, it’s a black guy. Hundreds of thousands, possibly millions of people show up at tea parties, and about 7 of them are black, and now one of them has become the public face of this white movement. I wrote about Marcus a long time ago. He wrote some lame song that’s now the Tea Party Anthem, and so he was invited up on stage to play and sing for the crowd at the Orlando protest. I said that his presence was proof that the tea parties aren’t serious, and that they were going nowhere. And after his Orlando performance, he was asked to perform at a whole bunch of other “conservative” political events and protests, by stupid white people who are eager to show they’re not racist.

Never mind that’s he’s “married” to a white woman. Oh hell no, that’s no problem. Conservatives will gladly embrace their own genocide if they think the media will stop calling them racists. more >>

Revolutionary Changes in the Focus and Philosophy of Education

For over two thousand years Great Books were the basis of education in the West. In antiquity Jewish youth studied Old Testament literature and commentaries on scripture; Greek students read Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey, while Roman scholars studied Virgil’s Aeneid. At the beginning of the Christian era, classical and Christian books together formed the basis of education in Christendom. Through the Middle Ages and Renaissance, up until around the beginning of the twentieth century, the staple of higher education was great literature or the classics. The grammar school lad, the young scholar, and the collegian spent much of their time reading Great Books, memorizing and declaiming selected passages, and imitating in their own compositions passages noted for eloquence in style or potency in theme. These books gave them a way to see beauty and goodness, to come to terms with such concepts as love and liberty, and to understand historical, economic, and political events. They gave the student an intelligible picture of the world.

But revolutionary changes in the focus and philosophy of education have altered the curriculum. The elective system has vastly increased the number of specialized, usually pragmatic, instrumental, and utilitarian courses in the curriculum. The old core of the liberal arts college (humane studies in theology, ethics, literature, philosophy, and the fine arts—largely the study of Great Books in these disciplines) shrank as students elected to take specialized courses in specific disciplines, usually those that have practical ramifications in terms of career and cash. With the elective system (or the cafeteria-style curriculum), the student is not exposed to the best that has been thought, said, and made (to adapt Matthew Arnold’s phrase) but elects to take what interests him from a host of marketable degrees.

T. S. Eliot, writing in the 1930s, tells us of the consequences of the elective system. When students no longer study the same subjects and read the same books, they have no sense of “continuity and coherence in literature and the arts,” they have no shared “body of knowledge.” Consequently, “the idea of wisdom disappears, and you get sporadic and unrelated experimentation” (Christianity and Culture 32-33). William Butler Yeats describes a similar effect of the loss of cultural cohesion in “The Second Coming” (1919). As the old European order of Christendom disintegrates, “Things fall apart; the center cannot hold; / Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world.”

Alan Greenspan

The former Fed chief was shocked, just shocked.

According to his prepared testimony before the House Oversight Committee, Greenspan lamented that "those of us who have looked to the self-interest of lending institutions to protect shareholder's equity (myself especially) are in a state of shocked disbelief.

Greenspan acts as though he didn't realize what central economic planning and fiat money would grow government and destroy real wealth and freedom. But look what he wrote back in 1967, before he became the counterfeiter in charge:

As the supply of money (of claims) increases relative to the supply of tangible assets in the economy, prices must eventually rise. Thus the earnings saved by the productive members of the society lose value in terms of goods.

Who of us is shocked by Greenspan's duplicity? None who are familiar with the powerful tribe behind the curtain. Brother Nathan, raised as tribal member, has a history lesson for us here.

Thomas Jefferson knew how evil banks could be when in 1802 he said,

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs.

Now is our chance. It's time to take back America, time to free ourselves from the international bankers, once and for all, time to do an Andrew Jackson on these lying, thieving parasites.

A New Twist on an Old Saying

Tim Worstall recalls Cato's famous expression "Ceterum censeo Carthaginem esse delendam" ("Furthermore it is my opinion that Carthage must be destroyed"), with which the crusty old Roman ended every speech in the senate. It is sometimes quoted as "Carthago delenda est" ("Carthage must be destroyed"). Carthage was Rome's arch-enemy, and eventually it was destroyed, wiped off the map completely.

Worstall facetiously recommends as a modern equivalent "Ceterum censeo Unionem Europaeam esse delendam" ("Furthermore it is my opinion that the European Union must be destroyed"), or "Unio Europaea delenda est" ("The European Union must be destroyed") for short. Of course, Worstall does not wish Europe itself to be destroyed, only the European Union. Indeed, he sees the destruction of the European Union as a way to save Europe.

A true Marxist

Reading about a totalitarian regime in a history book is interesting. Seeing other countries fall to tyranny is interesting, if sad. Seeing ones own formerly free country fall into tyranny is both terrifying and enraging.

I understand now -- after having watched these hostile Talmudic foreigners over the last few decades take over my country's government, academia, media and businesses through racketeering on a grand scale -- the murderous rage of the people during a revolution, and why these rootless, ruthless, "international money-changers" have been kicked out of so many countries over the centuries.

Conversational Latin

A good method to improve ones grasp of Latin is to speak it with others, just as one would with a living language such as German, Italian, French, or Welsh. But Latin presents a special problem. Because it is a "dead" language and most of what a young student reads is in the third person, finding the correct idiom in the first and second person is quite difficult.

To date I have found three excellent resources to help with this problem.

The first is the old Colloquia Latina from Benjamin L. D'Ooge, free online for reading or PDF download here. It has thirty colloquia of increasing difficulty, each a little over one page long, with accompanying grammar hints and test questions. It is perfect for beginning to intermediate students.

The second is John Traupman's Conversational Latin for Oral Proficiency. It has 25 chapters of two-person dialog, each concentrating on one topic such as greetings, trades and professions, animals, geography, dates, and grammar. Each chapter is divided into three sections for beginning, intermediate, and advanced learners. At the end of each chapter are a few alternate phrases and topical word lists with definitions.

There are pronunciation tables for Classical and Late Latin, a tiny bit of grammar, and suggestions for classroom activities. In the back of the book there is a page on the special problem of "yes" and "no," a numbers table, six pages of proverbs and sayings, and three pages of computer terms. Finally, the topical vocabularies from the chapters are collected into one general vocabulary of 137 pages.

There is also a CD for this book but I have not heard it. An umimpressed reviewer at Amazon suggested,

If you want to hear Latin pronounced in a more authentic fashion, listen to Wilfri(e)d Stroh, Miraglia, or the actor who plays the grown up Quintus talking to King Cogidubnus in the Cambridge Latin Course DVD II.

The third is the Lingua Latin (Per Se Illustrata) series from Hans Orberg, These are beginners' books written entirely in Latin, the text as dialog and narrative. Two great things about these books. First, the subject matter is daily Roman life, most helpful if one is studying for the National Latin Exam. Second, it may be used as a complete Latin course (which I would not recommend without an experienced Latin teacher) or as supplemental reading for your regular Latin lessons.

Ethno-nationalism, in spite of the myths pouring out of the academic presses, is a rejection of the gnostic-Enlightenment view of man, morality and epistemology. Unless one understands this negative connection, one cannot understand the historical and moral basis of nationalism (properly considered) and the ethno-community. Therefore, it is absolutely central that the work of Johann Herder be dealt with, for, in many respects, the revolt against Enlightenment "liberalism" and "practical" conservatism comes from him rather than from Burke, whose theoretical prowess has been overestimated in many respects.

For the Enlightenment, the notion of "progress" has been an allegedly continuous move from "myth" to "fact;" myth is the sensuous and concrete aestheticization of nature and mankind into something socially recognizable and intelligible. It is found in religious processions, harvest festivals, circular dancing and other signs of solidarity, and a solidarity imposed on a nature now no longer harsh and dangerous. Progress has its esoteric side of being the "demystification" or "unmasking" of such concrete realities into the abstractions of modern scientific and moral ideology. For Herder, this is a regress. Modern scientific methodology has eliminated the concrete object in favor of a sterile concept. The older idea of myth was not falsehood in any sense, but is a key to the heart and mind of a specific people and civilization. To aestheticize nature is to imprint the "general will" upon it, to provide it with cultural reality by integrating it into the vortex of the nation, and hence satisfying the nature need for aesthetics, but an aesthetic of populism and tradition. The nation, then, based on language and the memory of a common tradition and suffering, seeks to unify all things to itself: nature, technics and economics. These are provided with the imprint of the historical memory of a people. Nothing is strange, everything becomes recognizable, everything is made a home, the Voegelinite “cosmion.”

Two things in the article need emphasizing for today's conservatives and young nationalists. First, the state is not the nation, and a nation is not merely a collection of people who happen to be living in the same location. Patrick McGroarty, AP, reports that EU leaders are openly and boldly calling for global government:

The Obamanation did not appear antagonistic to the proposal:

Advice to Iceland

One of the ways the banksters are conquering the trusting goyish world, using the United States as their golem, is through the imposition of massive debt via deceit and manipulation.

Movie Review: Katyn

Andrej Wajda, 82, Poland’s most celebrated film director, lost his father at Katyn. In 2008, Wajda made a movie about this genocide and its effect on the victims’ families.
